John Sharood Biography
John Sharood invests in and helps build emerging and growth
companies in the Life Sciences, Business Software and Local food
John is COO of Vecco International, a leader in SAAS multi- Site, multi-
Tier supply and demand planning solutions. Vecco primarily targets
Life Sciences and similar Food & Beverage and Health & Beauty
customers, but is capable of supporting the full range of manufactured
goods value chains.
John has led two management buyouts in recent years. Gloucester
Engineering is a leading manufacturer and servicer of high technology
plastic film production systems. EGS is the world leader in many
segments of the web gauging industry, providing sensor systems,
control and automation software, consulting and maintenance services.
Gloucester was sold to Blue Wolf Capital Partners in 2010. EGS was
purchased by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2006.
John previously led several businesses for Invensys Software Systems
(now part of Schnieder), including Eurotherm Gauging, Baan Process
Solutions and several enterprise software development companies.
Prior to this, John founded Invensys Network Systems in the home and
commercial automation market. John was formerly Chief Financial
Officer of Invensys Appliance Controls, and of Bowman Distribution,
He began his career with GE, holding a variety of positions, including
Manager of Customer Service / Logistics of GE Power Controls, and
CFO of GE Power Controls. He previously led GE’s International Audit
Staff based in London, England and participated in more than a dozen
acquisition and divestiture transactions while at GE. He is a graduate of
GE’s Financial Management Program.
John holds a BA, Magna Cum Laude from James Madison College of Mi
chigan State University. He also holds a MSM in International Business
from Purdue University and a MBA from the Budapest University of
Economic Science (Now known as Corvinius University). John is co-
author of six patents in the controls, networking and automation fields.
